quietly we sit
sustained by the early sounds . . .
we know this won’t last
early sounds

Wow, been a long time since I’ve been notified of any new work on this site.
Hope all is well with you, Robert
Hello, Teresa! I’m glad to hear from you… Yes, I just got the urge to post here. Mostly I post on my other blog, ahaikupoet.com. Hope things are well with you :)
Really like this one. I am always drawn to the ones that have layered and shifting meaning. I know I would read something different every time I read this. Staying cool? Got up to 90′s here today. Blech.
Hello, Yousei! Did I miss this comment? Sorry about that :( This summer was really super busy at work, and the worst summer heat and drought in about 150 years in Texas. Austin area is burning, they’re trying to get the fires out, still. It’s been really bad. We’ve had two rains in a year.
Well, what can I say? I’ll probably write some haiku about it, that’s for sure.
So is that last sentence in a wishful sense, a mournful one, an appreciative one, or both?
Missing it is ok. I’ve been busy too. Way to much drama in my life this summer. Don’t think I want to go into it for now. Short version is I’m NOT moving to Texas like I thought I would. At least not for now. Stay away from fire and keep writing.
Well, I’m glad to hear from you, Tawnya :) I’m still writing, of course. And I have a new body of artwork. I think the fires may be under control now. They were far from me, anyway, but I had friends who were getting rather nervous about them…
So, you’re staying put. You know, I’ve thought about moving, several times. But I’ve stuck it out, through some difficult times. Someday I would like to relocate. But I hope it’s a move, not a run. I’m not saying that has anything to do with your situation. I was just thinking back.
looking for haiku
wondering how to do it
looking for you too
