high expectations …
climbed a mountain in my mind
fell hard, back to earth
fell hard

ohhhhhhhh…….. so sad :(
Yes, at this point, it appears that way. You may notice that I reworked this haiku somewhat. When I reread it today, it just wasn’t “right.
I need to find a different job – I have substantial back trouble, yet I am drywalling now, and installing digital projectors on ceilings, etc.
I’m still several years from retirement. If I take “early” retirement, my “magic benefits” would be cut in half, to $500 per month. Can’t live on that. No health insurance, unless I buy it for $400 per month.
So I don’t know what to do at this point. Need to make some decision, soon, just not sure what…
With friends the fall can be cushioned. Very revealing piece.
Regards,
Viny
If you read my response to epicswife, you will see why the expectations and fall…
Very difficult indeed… :(
I need to focus on my poetry. It’s my creative outlet and that’s a good thing! I’ve been through difficult times before, and I’m still here!

I think you might like this poem, Sarah.
You were correct! It was right up my alley. For some reason blogspot wouldn’t let me comment using my wordpress ID, but oh well. You’ve directed me to yet another read-worthy poet.
And yes, having a creative focus does aid in getting over those obstacles life throws at us. I’ve used my writing in much the same way. It seems to help me put things into perspective and still “get it out” at the same time.
I am so sorry to hear that! I don’t think I would know what to do either…….. So sorry!
Like I just replied to ebbtide, I need to focus a lot more on my poetry. It’s my creative, positive outlet. I’ve been through difficult times before, and I’m still upright and breathing.
